Chateau Architects Builders Home Sold For A Record Sum

A MODERN Georgian trophy home in Pymble took out the title as the highest sale last week not only in Sydney but the state — and rightly so.
The prestige chateau-like property at 33 Pymble Rd is pure luxury and sold for $5.7 million a day before auction.
The price guide was $5.5 million.
Set on a pristine and manicured 2100sqm, the six-bedroom estate included a tennis court, heated saltwater pool and private and direct keypad entry to Pymble Ladies’ College.
Listing agents were Rowan Lazar and Phil Orr of Sydney Sotheby’s International Realty - Gordon.
Mr Lazar said there was strong interest in the premium property throughout the campaign.
"We had more than 80 parties through the property," Mr Lazar said.
"Trophy homes like this come up very rarely especially ones that tick all the boxes including a new build, close to rail, private and right on the doorstep of one of the top girl’s school in Australia."
But with these big trophy homes there’s a smaller pool of buyers, the agent said.
"It always comes down to one or two buyers."
Such was the case with this north-to-rear property built in 2011 that also featured a 10-seat home theatre, wine cellar, infra-red sauna room, chef’s kitchen and entertainment areas.
"We had two buyers on it," Mr Lazar said.
"The school was a huge drawcard.
"That was a real driving point and the train station is less than 400m away."
Mr Lazar said the top result reflects the nature of the prestige property market.
"Trophy homes tend to stand alone to the rest of the market," he said.
"There’s always a small portion of buyers that have the money and are willing to pay a premium when these properties come up."
While the formidable sale is not a street record, it is the highest sale in Pymble Ave so far this year according to CoreLogic RP Data.
